For standoff chemical detection and identification, remote target signature analysis, and remote mineral and surface studies, Telops Inc. has developed First (field-portable imaging radiometric spectrometer technology). The lightweight, compact hyperspectral imaging sensor uses Fourier transform infrared technology to provide spatial and spectral information about the IR targets under measurement. With an integrated calibration system and electronics, it can be used as a stand-alone, unmanned instrument for more than 24 h. Spectral resolution for the 320 × 256-pixel system is down to 0.25 cm−1. It operates from a 28-VDC or a 120-VAC power source.
