PROGRAMMABLE CAMERA The Dica 321 from Philips Applied Technologies is a small, programmable, fast digital camera that can be used in industrial vision applications without a PC. The sensor captures images of up to 1280 × 1024 pixels at speeds from 27 to 1000 Hz, with 10-bits-per-pixel gray level. Equipped with two FireWire connectors, a trigger input, two independent flash outputs, a VGA monitor output, two digital inputs and two digital outputs, the camera is suitable for applications requiring a small autonomous vision system. Programming for stand-alone operation is achieved with Clicks or C/C++. Integration with LabView also is possible via Promise, a proprietary add-on.
