The XCI-SX1 smart camera made by Sony Electronics and designed for OEMs, systems integrators and vision tool manufacturers combines the imager, intelligence and interface in a single plug-in module. It uses the Linux-based operating system and features a high-performance processor, Compact Flash memory storage and input/output connectivity via Ethernet, USB serial port and monitor out. It operates at 15 fps with SXGA resolution and at 34 fps with VGA. In monitoring mode, shutter speed can run from 2 to 1/100,000 s and, in trigger mode, from 1/15 to 1/50,000 s. Gain control ranges from 0 to 18 dB in 1-dB increments.
