lDIODEJenoptik Laser, Optik, Systeme GmbH announced its new diode-pumped disc laser, an air-cooled solid-state device designed for micromaterials processing functions. The JOL-D10 laser features 10 W of output power and diffraction-limited radiation. It can operate continuously or in pulsed mode at a pulse energy of 0.5 mJ and pulse repetition rates up to 120 kHz. The laser crystal consists of a thin disc mounted to a heat sink, which eliminates thermal lensing independent of the pumping power. It can be operated without a liquid coolant. Applications include industrial marking, surface structuring, precision cutting and trimming, epoxy curing and transformation hardening.
