Kugler of America Ltd.
To prevent mode-hopping and power instability, backreflections from CO2 lasers must be suppressed. The laser source is isolated by separating the forward beam that hits the workpiece from the light directed backward by polarization, via a standard phase retarder mirror. An absorbing mirror inserted into the beam path between the laser source and the phase retarder mirror eliminates the backreflected light. The BRS Compact mirror housing from Kugler GmbH features a 50-mm mechanical interface that is compatible with its 90° bending units.
