Nikon Instruments Inc. has unveiled its Nexiv VMR LU series video measuring platforms, which combine reflected light microscopy and traditional measuring ability to perform coordinate measuring. The systems are suitable for failure analysis, 3-D image stacking, material-characterization analysis and large-image composite stitching. They automatically acquire multiple images that are recombined through software to produce an accurate 3-D image, providing technicians with a high level of image and metrology discrimination in the coordinate space.
