IMAGE DITHERING Piezo-driven X-Y dithering stages from PI (Physik Instrumente) LP feature subnanometer resolution and 2.2-kHz resonant frequency, making them suitable for image-interlacing applications in which the resolution of a CCD or CMOS sensor is increased by rapidly shifting it between pixel positions. With dimensions of 45 × 45 × 6 mm, the P-713 and -714 stages also may be used in scanning microscopy and for static nanopositioning. Lifetime is improved with the incorporation of ceramic-encapsulated piezo drives. The stages are compatible with a variety of OEM control systems.
