Silica/silica deep-UV-enhanced optical fiber with a numerical aperture of 0.22 ±0.02 has been unveiled by Polymicro Technologies LLC. Its operating temperature is ­65 to 300 °C. The sterilizable fiber has been proof-tested to 100 kpsi. The FDP200220240 fiber has a core of 200 ±4 µm and a buffer of 240 ±5 µm. The FDP600660710 has a core of 600 ±10 µm and a buffer of 710 ±10 µm. The FDA 200240340 fiber's core is 200 ±4 µm, with a 340 ±8-µm buffer, and the FDA600660760 version's core is 600 ±0 µm, with a buffer of 760 ±10 µm.
