Kappa opto-electronics GmbH has released the DX 4 and DX 40 CCD cameras for applications such as measurement engineering, process automation and scientific diagnostics. The cameras, which are available in color or black-and-white versions, feature a 2/3-in., 1384 × 1032-pixel CCD sensor, a 61-dB signal-to-noise ratio, 12-bit signal processing and frame rates of 15 fps. Camera Link interface is standard. The devices are fitted into 60 × 60 × 47-mm housings with a C-mount lens mount (a CS-mount is optional) to ease integration into existing systems. The cameras feature an external trigger, 2×, 4× and 8× binning, a reset/restart function and gamma correction.
