The SQ-2115 manufactured by New Scale Technologies Inc. is a closed-loop motorized nanopositioning stage that provides 5 N of force in a 17-mm profile. It contains an integral optical encoder and a piezoelectric Squiggle motor, which supports vertical loads of up to 0.5 kg indefinitely and without generating heat. The motor produces linear motion with 20-nm resolution. The stage is easily assembled into a two- and three-axis precision positioning system. Its travel range is 15 mm, with maximum speed of 2 mm/s. The company’s SQ-3300 controller allows the user to drive up to three motorized stages via included Windows-based software.
