A low-profile, surface-mount, full-spectrum red, green and blue LED has been announced by LEDtronics Inc. The SML5050RGB1K-TR measures 5.5 × 5.5 mm, and the red, green and blue diodes emit high-intensity light in a viewing angle of 120°. The red diode operates between 620 and 630 nm; the green, between 520 and 535 nm; and the blue, between 460 and 475 nm. Luminous intensities range from 150 to 500 mcd, depending on the color, at 20 mA. A water-clear lens protects the diode array.
