The Gi-300VE sorter from General Inspection LLC incorporates three technologies to inspect nuts and other small machined parts. Lasers determine exterior dimensions, machine vision examines recesses such as Torx or Phillips slots, and eddy currents inspect heat treatments and plating and look for cracks and seams. The unit can inspect about 200 to 400 parts per minute, depending on feeder capability. An automated packaging add-on is available that counts parts into a receptacle, which is transferred to a roller conveyor.
