MRC Systems GmbH has developed the Dynamic model fast laser beam positioning system that automatically adjusts the beam to a defined direction and stabilizes its position in real time, compensating for shock, vibration, laser pointing and thermal drift. The system includes one or two piezo-controlled mirror actuators and four-quadrant diodes. A diode is located behind a mirror close to the application to define the desired beam position. The closed-loop electronics controls the mirror actuators and keeps the beam in position. The system accommodates CW and pulsed (repetition rate >100 Hz) lasers, as well as pico- and femtosecond types. The control bandwidth is up to 300 Hz.
