Matrox Imaging has released a new version of its Matrox Imaging Library (MIL) software development tool kit for machine vision, medical imaging and image analysis applications. Running on Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP, MIL 8.0 integrates the string reader module character-recognition software and features improved camera configuration. The multibuffered image capture mode provides reliable performance, and a common API supports a variety of boards. An intuitive and easy-to-use function set is included, and users can choose between C/C++ and ActiveX programm ingenvironments.
