With a proprietary manufacturing process and laminated iron-core design, the BLMFS5 flat linear motors from Aerotech Inc. provide 25% more power than other models of a similar size. The moving steel-core forcer coil assembly contains Hall-effect devices and a thermal sensor and provides continuous force to 377 N and peak force to 1500 N. High-energy rare-earth magnets are used in the magnet track for high acceleration capability, and unlimited travel is achieved by stacking the tracks. For highest throughput, water-cooling is available as an option. The motors can be driven by the company’s brushless amplifiers and controllers.
