RED DIODE LASERS A series of high-power diode laser arrays at 665, 680 and 690 nm have been released by nLight Corp. for applications including solid-state laser pumping, materials processing and medical diagnostics. They can be packaged on the company’s industry-standard conduction-cooled CS packages or on its microchannel water-cooled Cascades platform. The CS package offers up to 10 W of CW output and a thermal resistance of 0.8 °C/W, and the Cascades, up to 15 W of CW output and thermal resistance of 0.35 °C/W. Cascades packages can be stacked horizontally or vertically, to a maximum of 20 bars high or six bars across.
