A PC-based real-time digital image processor board designed for x-ray imaging has been unveiled by Dalsa Corp. The XRI-1200 performs automatic noise suppression and contrast enhancement to improve image quality, and automatic adaptive image processing reduces motion artifacts while detecting and enhancing edges. Able to handle 10-, 12- and 14-bit images and supporting up to 50 fps, the board features an FPGA-based image processing engine that operates in three dynamic stages to improve measurement and diagnostic accuracy. It is available in LVDS and Camera Link versions and is supplied with software application development tools and utilities.
