Lumenera Corp. has unveiled high-speed USB 2.0 digital cameras for industrial applications. The Lw230 board-level device uses a 2.0-megapixel CCD sensor with a resolution of 1616 × 1216 and a fast global shutter, suitable for imaging fast-moving objects. With no frame grabber required, the camera can deliver 12 fps at full resolution, and higher frame rates at lower resolution, with full subwindow control and live focusing modes. Providing plug-and-play integration with Direct Show applications, the camera also is available in the Lw235 enclosed version. It is offered with color and monochrome capability and is supported by the company’s software developer’s kit with an interface compatible with C++ and Visual Basic.
