A field-portable spectroradiometer has been released by Analytical Spectral Devices (ASD) Inc. The FieldSpec3 expands the power and functionality of its predecessor and offers Ethernet and wireless connectivity for remote data collection at distances of up to 150 ft from the computer. More compact, rugged and lighter in weight than the FieldSpec Pro, the instrument is supplied standard with several cable management options and increased built-in diagnostics. It covers the spectral range from 350 to 2500 nm and collects data at the rate of 0.1 s per spectrum. A new LabView interface expands the capabilities of the updated RS3 software.
