Exalos AG has released a broadband superluminescent LED for optical coherence tomography, fiber optic telecommunications, instrumentation, structural sensors and fiber optic gyroscope applications. The EXS1510-×101 offers 10 mW of optical output in a single-mode fiber and a 65-nm 3-dB spectral bandwidth. Available in a 14-pin butterfly or a 14-DIL housing with a built-in thermoelectric cooler and a monitor diode, the device is based on a proprietary design and is Bell-core GR-468-CORE-qualified.
