BrightLine optical filters for fluorescence instruments have been introduced by Semrock Inc. The devices provide high brightness and sensitivity and low noise for specific products, such as Molecular Devices’ GenePix microarray scanners, the Becton Dickinson Carv II confocal imager and Yokogawa CSU confocal scanners. The high-performance ion-beam-sputtered filters are made with dense hard-coating technology that employs no adhesives in the optical path. The filters, which come as standard components in some instruments, are available to end users for upgrading or replacing existing filters.
