National Instruments has released the NI Vision 8 development module, which combines a vast collection of vision libraries with acquisition software for thousands of cameras, including FireWire models. It includes new algorithms for golden template comparison, optical character verification and data matrix grading to help engineers identify packaging and assembly errors earlier in production. Additional software includes NI Vision Assistant for automatically generating ready-to-run LabView diagrams, LabWindows/CVI, C/C++ or Visual Basic code, and NI Vision Acquisition, which acquires, displays and saves images from any of the company’s frame grabbers or FireWire cameras.
