POLARIZATION EXTINCTION General Photonics Corp. has introduced the ERM-101, a polarization extinction ratio meter that is designed for production and laboratory environments. It simultaneously displays power and polarizer rotation angle and is suitable for polarization-maintaining fiber pigtailing of laser diodes, fiber patch cord manufacturing, fiber connectorization, fiber fusion splicing, fiber coil production and quality assurance for fiber gyros. Its dynamic range is greater than 50 dB, and angular resolution is 0.06°. The instrument has five measurement speeds, ranging from 0.1 to 10 s per cycle.
