StockerYale Inc. has unveiled a line of UV LED modules that includes the UV Cobra (chip-on-board reflective array) line-scan illuminator that emits from 375 to 395 nm. Available in red, IR, blue, UV and white, and in back- and front-light configurations in lengths of 125, 250 and 500 mm, the illuminator’s intensity can be adjusted using 0- to 5-V analog voltage control. The chip-on-board approach to LED module fabrication results in high uniformity. The combination of high intensity and high uniformity produces clear line-scan images. The illumination devices can be mounted using the M4 × 0.7 metric threaded holes on the heat-dissipating fins. Wavelengths covered are 630, 395, 470 and 740 nm. Applications include fluorescence spectroscopy, UV curing of epoxy and ink, UV tracing and fluorescence contrast in machine vision.
