IQµ, a microprocessor-controlled laser module, has been unveiled by Power Technology Inc. It controls operating parameters via an onboard menu-driven local control or via a Windows-compatible control and monitoring software with either a USB or an RS-232 interface. Wavelengths from 375 to 1600 nm are available inside the same package. Output powers range from <1 mW to 1 W, and operating voltage is from 5 to 15 VDC. Maximum operating current is 3000 mA, and temperature stability is 0.02 °C over a range of 5 to 40 °C. Applications include spectroscopy, microscopy, interferometry and flow cytometry.
