Labsphere Inc. has designed the UV-1000P Ultraviolet Transmittance Analyzer to measure the percentage of transmittance of light-resistant pharmaceutical containers. A dual diode array spectrometer with xenon flashlamp and an integrating sphere provide repeatable measurements of diffuse transmittance within the UV spectral region in <5 s. The UV blocking ability is automatically calculated by software and converted to print or data processing programs for statistical analysis.
