Calmar's newly developed 1-µm femtosecond fiber laser features wavelengths within 1020 to 1075 nm and a tunable range of more than 10 nm. Pulsewidth is 100 fs to 5 ps tunable; repetition rate is 30-50 MHz. The OEM module-type laser is perfect for applications in biomedicine, homeland security, product characterization and testing and industrial laser processing systems. The module is a very reliable source and is shock-proof, as well as linearly polarized and highly stable in operation. It is driven by a +5 VDC power supply and is very easy to use. The laser also features a transform-limited pulse shape, low amplitude noise and pedestal. Based on this seed laser, Calmar also supplies customers with products of high power output by integrating an amplifier. Calmar's 0.4 to 45 GHz actively mode-locked fiber laser is DPSK and cryptography application proven, due to the high stability of its optical mode. The unique function of its automatic mode locking and remote computer control through the Internet are attractive to end users who have little practical lab experience with this kind of high-speed testing and measurement equipment. To operate the laser, end users need only to turn on the power  -- the laser will do the rest. The laser is always locked and then optimized when the wavelength or repetition rate is being tuned.
