Diagnostic-Instruments.jpgDiagnostic Instruments Inc. has expanded its line of digital microscope cameras with the Spot Pursuit XS, which incorporates a monochrome interline progressive-scan CCD that has 1360 × 1024 6.45-µm square pixels. Thermoelectrically cooled to –10 °C, the camera operates at 11 fps and provides exposure times from 100 µs to 48 h and read noise of 5.5 e at 10 MHz or 7.5 e at 20 MHz. It offers dual-speed readout at 14-bit A/D conversion, enabling users to select between maximum speed and lowest noise level. It comes with an adjustable C-mount and Spot software, which is compatible with Macintosh and Windows operating systems. Applications of the microscope camera include ion imaging and particle tracking.
