INTELLIGENT CAMERA

Vision Components GmbH has introduced the VC4068 intelligent camera, which has an integrated 400-MHz processor from Texas Instruments. Its 1/2-in. CCD sensor delivers 1280 × 1024-pixel resolution. The camera can be triggered internally or externally and operates at a maximum rate of 30 fps or, in binning mode, of 60 fps. It is equipped with a 4-MB flash erasable programmable read-only memory for program and data storage, and with 32 MB of SDRAM for storing pictures. This capacity can be extended by an additional 128MB SD card. Featuring an Ethernet and an RS-232 interface and four digital PLC inputs and four outputs, the camera has a high-speed trigger input that enables jitter-free image recording. A monitor can be connected to the camera’s direct SXGA video output for maintenance and testing.
