Rad-icon-Imaging.jpgThe Remote RadEye HR launched by Rad-icon Imaging Corp. is an x-ray-sensitive camera head designed for radiation imaging in small spaces. It contains a 2-D CMOS photodiode array with 22.5-µm pixels that produces a resolution of 22 line pairs per millimeter. The electronics are mounted in a detachable sensor housed in a steel enclosure with a stainless steel cover and a carbon-fiber window that shields it from ambient light. It can be remotely located and interconnected via a supplied 1-m-long cable. A Gd2O2S scintillator screen placed in contact with the photodiode array converts incident x-ray photons to visible light, which is detected by the photodiodes. The sensor operates with x-ray energies of 10 to 90 keV. The system produces 12-bit digital video output and is supplied with a digital frame grabber or a USB interface.
