Ames Photonics Inc.’s SpectraArray V4.1 software controls linear array CCD, CMOS and InGaAs detectors. Its new automated wavelength calibration module contains a database of spectra lines in first, second and third order for two of the company’s spectral lamps — an Hg and an Ar — and displays the relevant portion of the spectrum on the screen. The user can rapidly and interactively fit the lines in the database to those measured, and the software automatically calibrates the field with the appropriate polynomial correction function. The company says that re-calibration after the grating is moved is quick and easy, enhancing the use of linear array detectors for spectroscopic measurements.
