BARRINGTON, N.J., May 25, 2006 -- Edmund Optics has expanded its Tech Spec line of achromatic lenses. The most popular 6.25, 9.0, 12.5 and 25 mm achromats are now offered with the VIS 0 multilayer broadband antireflection coating designed to minimize reflections in the visible spectrum.

achromats2.jpgThese BBAR achromats feature more than 99 percent transmission from 425 to 675 nm. These lenses are ideal for applications requiring maximum throughput, including biomedical, machine vision and military uses.

All VIS 0 achromats feature the precision design and tolerancing of our standard Tech Spec achromats. Thousands of these achromats are in stock and ready to ship today.

Achromatic lenses consist of two optical components cemented together to form an achromatic doublet, which is computer optimized to correct for on-axis spherical and chromatic aberrations.
