Modulight Inc. has released 1550-nm Fabry-Perot and distributed feedback laser diodes for analog applications. The lasers can be combined with the company’s 1310-nm models for bidirectional transmission over single fiber or used independently for longer span lengths. They increase the transmission capacity and reach of fiber optic links in wireless repeaters and video surveillance systems. The uncooled hermetically sealed coaxial fiber-pigtailed distributed feedback lasers feature high side mode suppression and low distortion. Both models are available with or without an integrated optical isolator and with a variety of connectors.
