Master Bond Inc. has developed a one-component UV-curable polymer system for bonding, sealing and coating. UV14-3 is removable by most conventional solvents and is a 100% reactive, moderate viscosity liquid at ambient temperatures that contains no solvents or other volatiles. Maximum absorption of UV energy takes place in the 250- to 365-nm range. The system is not oxygen-inhibited. The cured coatings, adhesives and sealants can be used over temperatures from –60 to 250 °F. The company says that the adhesive exhibits good vibration and shock resistance and can withstand thermal cycling and shock.
