Acreo AB has released its Sesam 640 and Sesam 384 quantum-well infrared photodetectors-focal plane arrays, in formats of 640 × 512 and 384 × 288, respectively. The former is based on the standard ISC9803 readout circuit, and the latter, on ISC0208. Both offer 25-μm pixel pitch, 8.6-μm peak spectral response and a 90% fill factor, and both operate at 70 K, with a dynamic range of >85 dB. Sesam 640 has a temporal noise equivalent delta temperature (NEDT) mean of 30 mK, a spatial NEDT mean of 15 mK and optical response of 13 mV/°C. Values of those parameters for the Sesam 384 are 25 mK, 10 mK and 14 mV/°C. Outputs are selectable at one, two or four, with maximum frame rate and power dissipation varying according to the number.
