OptoTest_815-picture.jpgOptoTest Corp. has released the OP815D insertion loss measurement instrument for large-core optical fibers from 100 to 1000 μm, including silica and plastic types. The device can be ordered with controlled launch conditions, such as underfill, full-fill and overfill, to meet military and aerospace test requirements. A stable laser or LED source and a state-of-the-art precision optical power meter are integrated in a chassis that measures 8.5 × 3.5 × 12 in. The instrument can be operated via the front panel controls or automated over a USB interface by proprietary OPL-Pro turnkey application software.
