For fast machine vision applications, Adimec USA has released its 4050m, a 4-megapixel CMOS camera that features a burst readout mode that enables increased inspection speeds through temporary high image capture rates. The camera can be interfaced with off-the-shelf frame grabbers and operates at up to 140 fps with full 2300 × 1700-pixel resolution. With an 80 × 80 × 41-mm footprint, it produces CCD-level image quality while consuming low power. Features include programmable gain, offset and region of interest, as well as full asynchronous image capture, defect pixel and fixed pattern correction, and a programmable look-up table. The camera is suitable for metrology as well as wafer and semiconductor inspection.
