The PowerGage measurement device from Faro Technologies Inc. adds CAD-to-part analysis capability to the company’s Gage line. Designed for on-machine inspection, the device runs on Delcam plc’s PowerInspect software. The portable armlike instrument enables manufacturers to verify on-site that a part meets CAD file specifications to within 0.0002 in. When equipped with PowerInspect Programmer and Play-Only modules, it can be used to create inspection programs and routines offline, receive on-screen instructions, import major industry CAD formats, access geometric instruction tools and automatically optimize the viewing angle of the part under measurement.
