Lumics.jpgLumics GmbH has introduced its next generation of fiber-coupled laser modules. The uncooled 915-nm LU0915T050 produces up to 5 W of output power from a 105/125-μm fiber. The single-emitter module measures 22 x 11 mm, including a 2.7-mm screw hole for mounting to a heat sink. Several modules can be combined for easy scaling of the required pump power. Operating current is 5.5 A, forward voltage is 2.1 V, maximum, and threshold current is 500 mA, typical. The multimode fiber has a numerical aperture of 0.22. Applications include ytterbium fiber lasers and conventional diode-pumped solid-state types.
