A high-resolution USB 2.0 digital camera has been launched by Lumenera Corp. for industrial applications. The Lw290’s 16:9 high-definition-format, 2-megapixel CMOS sensor operates at 20 fps at full 1920 × 1080-pixel resolution. Higher frame rates are available at lower resolution. Dynamic range is >60 dB. Available in both board level (Lw290) and enclosed (Lw295) versions, and in color and monochrome models, the camera is supported by the company’s software developer’s kit with an application programming interface that is compatible with C++ and Visual Basic. No frame grabber is required.
