Based on the Tristan 5 spectrometer, a portable version with a wireless LAN interface and Bluetooth has been announced by m·u·t GmbH. Data can be transferred via cell phone over long distances. The spectrometer offers a halogen light source that is independent of the external power supply, making the Tristan a mobile device for spectroscopy applications. The Illumia mobile light source can be used when no external power supply is available. The stabilized LED features low power consumption and provides many hours of operation.
