A small-diameter industrial endoscope for remote viewing of inaccessible structures in tight spaces has been released by Moritex USA Inc. The LightScope mini measures 5 mm in diameter, is battery-powered and operates from 0 to 60 °C. It is supplied with a 1-m-long flexible plastic fiber image guide, providing a 27° view angle with a focal length variable from 10 mm to infinity. The fully waterproof endoscope comes with image fiber, an integral light source and a straight-on viewing optical system. Optional accessories include lighting systems and adapters for side viewing and mounting of digital cameras.
