Satisloh GmbH has developed platforms for the production of lenses up to 60 mm in diameter. SPM 60 and SPS 60 are modular systems that enable application-specific grinder and polisher variants. They feature a 360° swivel head with a two-tool spindle, an ultracompact polymer concrete base and a linear axis motor with a large working range. The basic version performs spherical processing and can be equipped to produce aspheres in disk and/or cup wheel mode. It also can be set up to process lenses on both sides. The systems use direct-driven water-cooled generating spindles, eliminating belt-induced vibrations. Air-bearing spindles that allow higher cutting speeds are an option.
