The Melles Griot Optics Group has announced the availability of the ExtremeService shutter family for operation in environmental conditions involving large variations in temperature. Operating optimally from –40 to 70 °C, the shutters feature blade coatings that are highly emissive in the infrared. They are suitable for night vision cameras and analytical instruments in OEM applications as well as for calibrating uncooled sensors in forward-looking infrared systems.
