Ocean Optics Inc. has released a fiber optic oxygen sensor designed for on-line, laboratory or field applications. Dubbed Foxy, it couples to the company's high-sensitivity miniature fiber optic spectrometers for real-time analysis of dissolved or gaseous oxygen concentration. Features include a fiber optic fluorescence probe with a proprietary oxygen-sensing thin-film coating on its tip, a pulsed blue light-emitting diode, a bifurcated optical fiber assembly with splice brushing and operating software.
