LabSmith_LC220ProgrammableLogicController.jpgLabSmith Inc. has released its LC220 embeddable programmable logic controller for high-speed synchronization of experimental apparatus in laser diagnostics, materials science, gas dynamics and combustion applications. The two-channel instrument can synchronize events based on real-world feedback and can coordinate laboratory tools such as flashlamps, Q-switches, shutters and flow controls. External feedback to its inputs synchronizes events such as the motion of high-speed rotary machinery, shock waves and projectiles with 5-ns resolution. The drift-compensation mode automatically adjusts delays to maintain timing accuracy of drift-prone instruments. The dynamic delay mode performs on-the-fly synchronization, and the noise suppression mode provides reliable triggering. Trig220 design software, LabView drivers and a software development kit are included.
