The Laser Micro division of Rofin/Baasel Lasertech has launched the StarWeld Select series that can be operated as manual welding lasers, as deposit welding lasers or as high-precision computer-numerical-controlled systems. All process steps are controlled via the joystick and a multicolor touch-screen display. Workpieces weighing up to 50 kg are precisely positioned with 10-μm accuracy. The speed-controlled exhaust system operates with high-efficiency particulate air filters to remove welding fumes safely, and a closed-loop cooling circuit with large filters and cooling surfaces provides long lifetime and long maintenance intervals.
