The FastCam MH-4 introduced by Photron Inc. is a remote multihead digital video imaging system that allows the use of one to four detachable camera heads, each measuring 35 × 35 × 35 mm and weighing <100 g. The system produces full 512 × 512-pixel resolution at up to 2000 fps and up to 10,000 fps at reduced resolution. It uses a 10-μm-square pixel with an 8-bit monochrome and a 24-bit color CMOS sensor. The camera heads are mounted in any orientation via a 10-m-long cable. Cable types include 90° right, straight and 90° left, and the camera head connector configuration is either top- or rear-mounted.
