For macroimaging applications in the biomedical and industrial markets, Nikon Instruments Inc. has announced its AZ100 multizoom microscope. Offering a wide field of view, long working distances and high resolution, it supports a variety of observation techniques and has a magnification range from 5× to 500× and a zooming magnification optical system with a ratio of 8:1. The triple-place nosepiece accommodates a variety of objective lenses. The telecentric optics create same-size images for objects at any distance and have an angle of view across the entire field. A zoom aperture diaphragm at the back focal plane of the objective lens produces consistent telecentric images across the entire zoom range.
