DepSci.gifDeposition Sciences Inc. has designed filters that block more than 99% of ultraviolet radiation in the 200- to 380-nm range, while transmitting more than 90% of the visible wavelengths between 425 and 700 nm. The UltraBlock filters come in thicknesses of 1.1, 1.75, 2.2 and 3.3 mm. They can be used for LCD projectors, fiber illuminators, medical applications, and retail display, museum and food and beverage lighting. The filters can be applied to transparent substrates, including float glass, fused silica, sapphire and borosilicate glasses. The coatings are stable over temperature and humidity changes and meet or exceed Mil-C-675 standards.
